Who are you and what do you do?
I’m a 25 year old photo-journalist who has grown up in Cincinnati, Ohio. I have always been an artist and I currently hold 2 art degrees. A Bachelor’s of Fine Art in Applied Photography and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Graphic Design, both from Northern Kentucky University.
My specialties include, photojournalism. As well as, on location portraits, and commercial product and person photography, graphic and web design.
How did you begin working with Lowry Photo?
When I first graduated from college I wanted to begin my career as a photographer, and I searched for a studio to call home. I interviewed with several studios in town and ended up clicking with Chris Lowry right off the bat. We have been working together now for four years! As time passes we become more and more comfortable working with each other, and have developed a very dynamic photo style together.
How do you define photojournalism?
Photojournalism is a very popular style of wedding photography. It's a series of candid photos covering the events of the entire day. This style of shooting appeals to a bride and groom who want a collection of unique and descriptive images designed to narrate the wedding day. A wedding photojouralist usually shoots images quickly using available light rather than using traditional, formal posing techniques and studio lights. A wedding photo-journalist candidly captures images during wedding day preparations, ceremony and reception party. The photos should work together to tell
the story of the day through all available aspects or angles. The wedding photos should convey emotion, mood, and atmosphere, as well as all details. When looking at the photos you'll be brought back to the day and all of its excitement and emotion.
